Workshop: Weave Branches Into Art

Help us create artwork that will be featured in the renovated community centre upon its reopening. Local artists Agnes Niewiadomski and Michelle Purchase have been commissioned to create new public artwork for the renovated Mill Courtland Community Centre. The artists will host a series of free workshops for local folks to help weave swallows from willow branches.

Workshops are in-person, designed for beginners or experienced weavers, with materials provided. Participants should be 12 or older and workshops will involve using sharp tools and require a fair amount of hand strength to control the twisting and shaping of materials for up to three hours.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. 

Dates: Sign up for one or more workshops. Tuesday, January 20; Wednesday, January 21; Tuesday, February 24th; Wednesday, February 25th.
​Location: This program is held at Rockway Mennonite Church at 47 Onward Avenue, Kitchener.

We actively seek opportunities to partner with local groups to provide meaningful and equitable programming for marginalized populations.
